High School

Gabe watching a high school basketball game this morning. Gabe said, "I'm going to play basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, and soccer in high school. I won't be able to play swimming because I won't have time."

One Kid

YMCA gym had one kid practicing basketball on Sunday afternoon. Good job, Gabe!

Gabe said the following this morning...
"Can I get an iPhone?"

Wow, I thought the requests for a cell-phone wouldn't start for another few years?

First Indoor Swim Meet

Gabe had his first indoor swim meet today. It was his first time doing 50 meter races (vs 25), his first time doing flip-turns in a race, and he was one of 2 five year olds competing in the 7-and-under division. He did great, and beat several of the 7 year olds. (You can see ages on the race results sheet). 

Quote: "Even in Canada???!!!!"

At bedtime last night, I had the following exchange with Gabe:

Gabe: "Daddy, why do we have to sleep every night?"
Dan: "Because it gives us energy to do all things we want to do the next day."
Gabe: "Do people all around the world go to sleep every night?"
Dan: "Yep, everyone around the world sleeps every night, so they feel good and have energy the next day to have fun."
Gabe: "Even in Canada?"

No idea where that came from, but it was unexpected and funny!
