Basketball season

Gabe -- jersey #2 in dark green -- had his first basketball game of the season last weekend. Pretty good result. His team won 24-2, and he scored 14.

Dara was home early today, so Whiskey waited at the door patiently for Gabe to get home from school. 

A Great Kid

I had an incredibly proud moment on Saturday evening.  As we all know, you won't find a 6 year-old more competitive, or more sports-minded than Gabe.  His soccer team played a great team on Saturday morning, and lost 3-1.  Later that evening, we were at Gabe and Dara's school for their Fall Festival.  As we were leaving the school event, Gabe saw a kid who was on the other team he'd played-against earlier that day.  We're walking out of the school door, and Gabe sees this kid and yells, "Hey Steffon, you played great today!"  I immediately grabbed Gabe and told him how proud I was of him.  Great combination -- on the field Gabe wants to win more than anyone else out there; after the game, he respects the kids on the other team (even an opponent who had beaten Gabe's team).

Student of the Week

Gabe won "student of the week" at school for last week.  Mid-week last week, we received a phone call from the teacher about how amazing Gabe has been in class and how he's been helpful to the teacher and other students.  We're very proud of Gabe, and we obviously told him so!

Kids these Days

Do you think you're old and out of touch with what the kids are doing these days? I did, but not anymore. Gabe downloaded Pac-Man to the iPad, and he and Dara are playing it. That's a game I actually know!

Friday Night Lights

show on Friday night. Nothing like a high school football game!

First Grade

1st grade is serious business! Weekly spelling tests and math tests.
Gabe got 100% on his first two spelling tests!! Let's see if he can go
for 3 in a row this Friday.

Gabe's last baseball game of the Summer (about a month ago!).  He had a great first season and loved it (of course).
